Ohio State landed a commitment from 3-star offensive lineman Jake Cook on Sunday afternoon.
Cook is an in-state prospect and one of the best recruits from the state of Ohio in the class of 2025. He was previously committed to Louisville, but backed off of that pledge last week.
Cook shared the news of his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Cook is a big-time addition for the Buckeyes in the class of 2025. Currently a 3-star prospect, Cook is the No. 617 overall player and the No. 39 interior offensive lineman in the country for this cycle. He’s also the No. 21 player from the state of Ohio.
He attends Westerville North High School in Westerville, Ohio. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds. Cook visited Ohio State this past weekend after decommitting from Louisville. His list of other offers include Indiana, Kentucky, Boston College and West Virginia, amongst others.
Ohio State has been very active on the recruiting trail this offseason, particularly in its home state. Cook is the 7th Ohio native to join the Buckeyes’ 2025 class so far. He’s also the 2nd offensive lineman to join Ohio State’s class to this point in the year.
Ohio State has long held the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. With this commitment, the Buckeyes now have 18 prospects in their 2025 class.
