Eichenberg (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) is a top-20 nationally-ranked inside linebacker and is considered one of the top-10 prospects in the state of Ohio, per 247Sports. A former Boston College commit, he chose the Buckeyes over the Eagles and Michigan, among others.

“They love the way he plays linebacker, but they have a position that is a guy who’s a drop end, but also an outside ‘backer,” said Eichenberg’s high school coach, Chuck Kyle, oer IgnatiusWildcats.com. “At times, he’ll put his hand down and rush, other times he’s dropping off. Tom Eichenberg is perfect for that position, and not everyone can play that position.”

Eichenberg becomes Ohio State’s 16th commitment for the recruiting class of 2019, which now ranks No. 10 in the country and No. 2 in the Big Ten.
