Ohio State has already a strong 2021 recruiting class and now it’s looking to get a head start on 2022. The Buckeyes added their sixth pledge of that cycle on Tuesday evening.
Bennett Christian, a 3-star tight end out of Acworth, Georgia, verbally committed to Ohio State this week. He is the sixth prospect out of the 2022 class to pledge to the Buckeyes and just the second out-of-state player. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

Per 247Sports, Christian ranks as one of the top 20 tight ends for his class, coming in at No. 19. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Georgia native is the No. 31 player from his home state and ranks No. 370 overall, regardless of position.
On the recruiting trail, Christian received offers from a dozen programs. He chose Ohio State over other major offers from Tennessee, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State and others.
Though the Buckeyes added another pledge to the 2022 class, they still sit No. 2 nationally in the recruiting rankings, behind only LSU. Ohio State still owns the top-ranked class in 2021.
