Ohio State senior K’Vaughan Pope has apparently left the team during halftime of the Buckeyes’ game vs. Akron.
According to reports in Columbus, Pope stormed off the sideline after being waived off by a teammate. He was eventually escorted off the sideline by an Ohio State official shortly before halftime.
Not long after, Pope sent out multiple tweets that seemed to be referencing his situation. The second tweet has since been deleted:
Pope entered this game with 3 tackles on the year with 1 pass deflected. His best season in his collegiate career was in 2019 when he finished with 13 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 2 passes defended.
Before committing to Ohio State, he was a 4-star prospect in the 2018 class and was the No. 4 overall player in Virginia, per his 247sports Composite ranking.
Ohio State holds a 38-3 halftime lead over Akron.
