Ohio State LB target in class of 2024 sets commitment date

Ohio State linebacker target Payton Pierce will announce his commitment on Tuesday evening.
Pierce, a 4-star prospect from Lucas, Texas, has the Buckeyes included in his list of 6 finalists. He’s also still considering Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas.
He will announce his decision at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday night, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Pierce has become a top target for the Buckeyes in 2024. He’s the No. 151 overall player and the No. 15 linebacker in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 27 player from the state of Texas.
He attends Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. He’s listed at 6-foot-1, 225 pounds.
Ohio State has amassed one of the top classes in the country for 2024 so far. The Buckeyes already have 9 commitments, including 1 from a linebacker. The group ranks No. 4 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
