Ohio State left tackle carted off vs. Oregon after suffering apparent leg injury
Ohio State starting left tackle Josh Simmons may be dealing with a serious injury.
Simmons was carted off the field midway through the second quarter of Ohio State’s top-3 matchup with Oregon on Saturday night. After briefly being able to stand up after the play, Simmons was ultimately carted off with what appeared to be a non-contact lower-leg injury.
Here’s a look at the play that caused the injury:
Here’s a closer look at Simmons’ injury. He had to get carted off by the medical staff.

Simmons is a massive loss for the Buckeyes if he’s unable to return to this game. He’s widely viewed as one of the best offensive tackles in the country and is considered to be a top prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft. Simmons also started all 13 games at tackle for Ohio State in 2023.
Simmons is the second Ohio State offensive lineman to exit this game. Starting guard Tegra Tshabola also exited the game due to injury.
Zen Michalski is stepping in for Simmons at left tackle. Michalski is a senior who has played mostly on special teams during his time at Ohio State.
Oregon is also without arguably its top pass rusher in this game as Jordan Burch suffered an injury in practice this week.
Ohio State is 9-1 all-time against Oregon.
