Patterson originally committed to Ohio State over Alabama and Tennessee on July 9.

Following Patterson’s reported decommitment, the Buckeyes have 14 commitments in the class of 2019, including one other LB in Cade Stover. Patterson is rated as the nation’s No. 9 ILB and the state of Tennessee’s No. 7 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Patterson became the first decommitment since the Urban Meyer and Zach Smith news broke August 1.
