Ohio State loses pledge from in-state OL in 2024 recruiting class
Ohio State football is not active on Week 5 with Ryan Day and the Buckeyes on a bye week. However, recruiting never sleeps, and one prospect announced he is reopening his recruitment as of Saturday.
The player is Marc Nave, a 6-foot-5 and 315-pound offensive lineman from Central Catholic in Toledo, Ohio. A 2-sport athlete who also plays basketball, Nave committed to the Buckeyes in March.
He confirmed the move to decommit on Saturday:
“I just want to inform everyone that I have decommitted from OSU,” wrote Nave on social media. “I want to thank everyone involved. I feel as if I rushed this process and I’ve prayed on it and it is God’s plan not mine.”

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Nave is a 3-star prospect and the No. 44 IOL in the class of 2024. He’s also rated as the 23rd overall player out of Ohio for the cycle.
Ohio State still maintains a strong class for the 2024 recruiting cycle but it is certainly noteworthy when an in-state prospect reopens his recruitment.
