Recruiting is a 365-day a year sport in and of itself.
Ohio State, of course, knows this. Whether it’s Urban Meyer or Ryan Day as the leader of the program, the Buckeyes are consistently in the mix for high-level prospects.
This is no different for Noah Sewell. Sewell, considered the No. 2 ILB for the Class of 2020 by 247Sports, put out his list of Top 8 schools on Sunday afternoon.
Here’s the list:
I truly am grateful to all the Coaches & Universities that offered me an opportunity to continue my education. But moving forward, I will focus on these 8 schools, and find what best fits me. Please respect my decision. I apologize for not taking any interviews at this time.🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/bXDg31gw4D

You may notice that the Buckeyes are the lone B1G team on this list. Six of the eight come from the SEC, while Oregon is the other outlier.
Sewell, it should be noted, is from Orem, Utah. Oregon may have the inside track in terms of geographic location, but six SEC schools making his cut is fairly telling as well.
The 6-foot-2, 266-pound prospect is considered to have a 90 percent chance of choosing Oregon according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Projections at this time.
At the time of Sewell’s list coming out, Ohio State has zero ILB’s signed for its 2020 class, which consists of 22 members. Obtaining Sewell’s services would certainly be a fantastic boost.
