Ohio State set a program record in Monday’s National Championship game though it ended up being one that they won’t want to remember.
The Buckeyes gave up 52 points to the Crimson Tide in the game, which set a school record for the most points they’ve ever given up in a bowl game. 45 was the record before Alabama scored their last touchdown in the 4th quarter:

To make matters worse, Alabama was just the second team to score 50+ points in a BCS/CFP title game:
Alabama is the 2nd team to score 50+ points in a BCS/CFP title game, joining USC in 2005 (55 points).

The Buckeyes got carved through the air all game long as quarterback Mac Jones threw for 464 yards and five touchdowns on 36-of-45 passing. Receiver De’Vonta Smith had 12 receptions for 215 yards and three touchdowns as no one in OSU’s secondary could cover him.
Running back Najee Harris was also a force that the Buckeyes couldn’t control. In addition to his 79 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, he had seven receptions for 79 yards and a score. OSU also allowed 28 points in the second quarter, which ended up being the big difference in the game.
