Ohio State makes Top 5 for 5-star OL in 2021 recruiting class
Ryan Day and his staff are in the running for another high-profile recruit in the 2021 class.
Thursday, 5-star offensive lineman Tristan Leigh announced his top five programs, leaving Ohio State in the mix for his destination. Along with the Buckeyes, Leigh has included Alabama, Clemson, LSU and Oklahoma.
Leigh revealed his top five with a video on Twitter:

Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class is already ridiculous, and could be one of the best in history even without a pledge from Leigh. Adding the 5-star talent would just widen the gap between the Buckeyes’ top-ranked class and the rest of the field.
According to 247Sports, Leigh ranks as the No. 11 overall prospect in the cycle, regardless of position. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound tackle is a native of Fairfax, Virginia and is the top prospect out of the state. He’s also listed as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the class.
From 247Sports’ Barton Simmons:
Athletic, long-armed offensive line frame that will add mass quickly on the next level. Plays with good pad level. Nasty, blue collar, effort player. Doesn’t pass block much in HS but has shown in a camp setting a natural pass set. Mirrors well with basketball athleticism.
Leigh received offers from 40 programs during the recruiting process. Along with Ohio State, seven other B1G programs offered the tackle, including Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, Rutgers and Maryland.
Ohio State already owns the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class and has three 5-star players committed. Of the 19 verbal pledges the Buckeyes have received, 12 are ranked inside the top 100 nationally.
