Five-star prospect Jaiden Woodbey flipped from Ohio State to Florida State late Wednesday night.

Woodbey was committed to the Buckeyes throughout most of his recruitment but opted to sign with the Seminoles when the early signing period arrived. The California native was also expected to be pretty high on USC at the time of his signing.

A top 30 prospect of the 2018 class, Woodbey was ranked as the second-best safety and the fourth-best player out of California. He raked in 30 offers but opted to sign with Florida State over Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Michigan, Miami and Oklahoma.

With the loss of Woodbey, Ohio State dropped to No. 2 in the national recruiting rankings on 247Sports, falling behind Georgia. The Buckeyes still own the top recruiting class in the B1G, just ahead of East rival Penn State.

Woodbey is one of just nine recruits in Florida State’s 2018 class. The Seminoles currently ranked 44th nationally.
