Ohio State moved up one spot to No. 2 this week following its 52-12 dismantling of Michigan State. The Buckeyes controlled the game on both sides of the ball despite battling COVID-19 issues for most of the last two weeks. Quarterback Justin Fields scored four total touchdowns — two with his arm and two with his legs.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Indiana didn’t quite make the cut even after its 14-6 upset over No. 16 Wisconsin. The Hoosiers proved their worth without quarterback Michael Penix Jr., but Klatt still has them on the outside looking in. They did receive an honorable mention, though, alongside two-loss Georgia and the Sun Belt’s Coastal Carolina.
Backup quarterback Jack Tuttle was solid, completing 13-of-22 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He didn’t turn the ball over and was still able to move the chains despite star receiver Ty Fryfogle being double teamed for much of the game.
Indiana will close out the season with Purdue in Week 8. Ohio State is scheduled to play Michigan, although that game is in jeopardy due to COVID-19.
