Ohio State has named the recipients of the Male and Female Athlete of the Year for the 2020-21 year.
Former Buckeyes quarterback Justin Fields was the winner of the Male Athlete of the Year after leading the team to a fourth straight B1G title, an undefeated regular season and a trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
B1G shot put champion Adelaide Aquilla of the track and field team was named the winner of the Female Athlete of the Year award. She was a winner of the B1G indoor championship and claimed the NCAA indoor national championship honor, as well.

Both Fields and Aquilla will be placed on the ballots to win the B1G Athlete of the Year awards. That announcement will come on July 13.
Fields was selected No. 11 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and will be entering his rookie season with the organization. Aquilla is currently in Eugene, Oregon preparing for the U.S. Olympic Trials.
