Ohio State took care of business in Week 12 against Northwestern, as the Buckeyes knocked off the Wildcats 31-7.

Jeremiah Smith had 4 catches for 100 yards, while Carnell Tate had 4 catches for 52 yards and 2 touchdowns. The defense was equally as impressive, as that unit allowed only 251 yards of total offense.

On Sunday, the team announced the recipients of its offensive, defensive, and special teams Player of the Week honors. With his performance in the game, Tate took the offensive honor.

Tate may not get as much credit as Smith and Emeka Egbuka receive, but he is a guy who is more than capable of making big plays. His receiving touchdowns in the game went for 8 and 25 yards.

The defense was looked at as 1 of the biggest reasons the Buckeyes were a title contender entering the season, and that unit is playing its best football as of late. The defense was dominant in the game against the Wildcats, and junior safety Sonny Styles played a huge role in the game.

He finished the game with 6 tackles, 5 solo, and 2 sacks in the win.

Freshman Jaylen McClain has a chance to be a very good player for the Buckeyes in the future, and the freshman finished the game with 3 tackles. Those 3 tackles were the most he has had in a game this year.

The Buckeyes will be in action next Saturday in 1 of the biggest games of the season in college football as they host No. 5 Indiana. The game will be on FOX and kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.
