Ohio State remained perfect in 2024 with a 38-7 win at Michigan State, taking a 24-7 lead into the locker room before outscoring the Spartans 14-0 in the second half. On Sunday, the Buckeyes named their offensive, defensive, and special teams players of the game.

Jeremiah Smith received offensive player of the game honors after making 5 catches for 82 yards, pulling in a second-quarter touchdown catch to extend the Buckeyes’ lead. That came after a 19-yard rushing touchdown.

After no defensive player receiving nods after a 49-14 win over Marshall in Week 4, Caleb Downs was named defensive player of the week against the Spartans. He was credited with 7 tackles — including a tackle for a loss — as the Buckeyes’ defensive unit yielded just 246 yards of total offense.

Special teams player of the game honors went to David Adolph, with the wide receiver contributing to coverage duty during the day.

Ohio State, now 4-0, will look to improve its record as it hosts Iowa in Week 6.
