There’s still no word on whether linebackers Jerome Baker and Dante Booker will suit up for Ohio State this weekend against Illinois in the home finale for the Buckeyes.

Baker and Booker missed last Saturday’s against Michigan State, citing injuries as the reason behind their absence. There hasn’t been any update on the status of the two players and there doesn’t seem to be much incentive from the staff to inform the media about the situation.

According to Bucknuts, an affiliate of 247Sports, defensive coordinator Greg Schiano provided no insight on the situation.

“You’ll have to ask the head coach or the doctors about that,” Schiano said when asked about Baker and Booker’s status. He provided the exact same response when asked if the two players practiced on Tuesday.

Ohio State got along just fine without the tandem against Michigan State, holding the Spartans to just three points in the game. The Buckeyes improved to 8-2 with the 48-3 win last week.

Last Saturday, the absence of Baker and Booker wasn’t announced until close to kickoff. Expect that to be the case again this week against Illinois.
