One Ohio State OL has joined the ranks of a true Buckeye while shedding his black stripe on Saturday.

The player is George Fitzpatrick, a member of the 2022 recruiting class entering his second season with the Buckeyes. Fitzpatrick was a 4-star OT and the 19th OT in the country for the class of 2022.

“Appreciate all y’all welcoming into the brotherhood. Y’all are like family to me,” said Fitzpatrick. “Shout out to my unit, Coach Frye, Mike, appreciate y’all. Shout out to the strength staff, Coach Mick, KP. Go Bucks!”

While it’s still early in the spring, we will see if Fitzpatrick is able to carve out some playing time with the Buckeyes in 2023. Ohio State’s offense is replacing some key pieces on the offensive line with Dawand Jones and Paris Johnson Jr. off to the NFL, so a number of spots are up for grabs in the offseason.
