Good news for the Ohio State Buckeyes: Dawand Jones is coming back for another season. The news comes from a rock-solid source: Jones himself.

Jones is coming off of a breakout 2021 season, winning a starting job in fall camp. Ryan Day’s squad did some shuffling to get Jones, Nicholas Petit-Frere and Thayer Munford in Ohio State’s starting 5 on the offensive line for 2021. The moves worked out well, as Ohio State’s offense led the nation in scoring offense (45.7 points per game) and total offense (561.2 yards per game).

Jones will help anchor the 2022 offensive line. The Indianapolis native, listed at 6-8, 360 pounds on the Ohio State website, completed his true junior season. Jones has the NCAA’s COVID waiver for 2020 and a redshirt available (in case of injury) to potentially further extend his time at OSU, but he’ll likely be off to the NFL Draft after 2022.
