Ohio State QB CJ Stroud named finalist for national award
Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud continues to get recognition for his outstanding freshman regular season.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Stroud was recently selected as the B1G’s Offensive Player of the Year, QB of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Now Stroud has been chosen as one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award, which goes to the nation’s top quarterback:

Stroud amassed 3,862 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions in his first season as the starter at Ohio State. The redshirt freshman finished No. 7 in yards, No. 5 in touchdowns, and No. 2 in QB rating (182.2) nationally.
The highly decorated Stroud arrived at Ohio State as the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and the No. 42 overall recruit in the country for the class of 2020, according to the 247Sports Composite.
No. 7 Ohio State has a 10-2 record and will await its bowl destination. The Buckeyes fell to rival Michigan for the first time in a decade last weekend.
