Ohio State has backup quarterback Kyle McCord in as C.J. Stroud deals with a shoulder injury.

McCord found star WR Chris Olave on a 5-yard pop pass to tie the game up against Akron at 7. The pass goes down as McCord’s first TD pass with the Buckeyes.

Here’s the play:

Olave has been a star for the Buckeyes in 3 seasons and 3 games, has 126 receptions for 2,009 yards on 15.9 yards per carry and 24 touchdowns.

This year, Olave has 16 catches for 243 yards on 15.2 yards per reception and 2 touchdowns.

The Buckeyes have looked pedestrian at times this season as they are 2-1 on the year. They have wins over Minnesota and Tulsa and a loss against No. 3 Oregon.

The Buckeyes are No. 10 in the Week 4 edition of the AP Top-25 Poll.

Next week the Buckeyes will go on the road to face Rutgers.
