Mike Weber’s final game as an Ohio State Buckeye will come in the Rose Bowl Game on January 1.

Sunday night, Weber announced on Twitter that he will declare for the 2019 NFL Draft, opting to forgo his final season in Columbus. The Buckeyes running back plans to play in the Rose Bowl to finish out his college career.

“WOW! It’s been one hell of a journey,” Weber wrote. “I will forgo my senior season and will live the dream I’ve had since 5 years old. I will be declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft. I also will be playing in the Rose Bowl to finish what my brothers and I started.”

Weber joins teammates Nick Bosa and Dre’ Mont Jones to declare early for the NFL Draft. Dwayne Haskins said he won’t make a decision until after the Rose Bowl.

Weber has played in 37 games during his career in Ohio State, despite battling some injuries over the last two years. He’s shown incredible toughness in 2017 and 2018, fighting through the pain to appear in a majority of the Buckeyes’ games.

As a freshman, Weber burst onto the B1G scene, tallying 1,096 yards and nine touchdowns in 2016. The following season, he rushed for 626 yards and 10 touchdowns, but was limited due to injuries. He missed two games in his sophomore campaign.

This season, Weber had an incredible season-opening performance, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. But it was just one of two 100-yard games for the running back this fall. His other came against Michigan State, totaling 104 yards in the contest.

For the year, Weber rushed for 858 yards and five touchdowns.

Weber leaves Columbus with 2,580 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. He also added 289 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.
