Ohio State has set its game themes for October, including a special 100-year celebration of Ohio Stadium during Homecoming. That event will be on Oct. 1 when Rutgers comes to Columbus.

The Buckeyes will “Scarlet the ‘Shoe” on Oct. 22 in a game against Iowa. Ohio State held Scarlet Out last October against Penn State.

For some fans, it may be hard to believe but Ohio Stadium is indeed coming up on its 100th anniversary. The first game came on Oct. 7, 1922 against Ohio Wesleyan University.

Ohio State also recently released its game themes for the September slate of home games. That schedule will feature a Sept. 24 Blackout against Wisconsin in the B1G opener for the Buckeyes.

November game themes have yet to be announced. That month will feature games against Indiana on Nov. 12 and the season-ending matchup against Michigan on Nov. 26 in The Game.
