We know Ryan Day will not be on the sideline for Saturday’s game against Michigan State, and the Buckeyes finally released a final status report for that game.

As Day continues to isolate after testing positive for COVID-19, Larry Johnson and Kevin Wilson will take over leading the team in his absence. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes will be down a number of players due to positive tests and contact tracing.

Fans should also be reminded: the Buckeyes do not specify why players are out for the game. This list contains injured players, COVID-19 positives, and players held out due to contact tracing.

Hopefully it does not slow the team down against the Spartans, but Saturday’s game is still just the tip of the iceberg. Players to test positive must be out for 21 days, so there may be some players who are not able to get back in time for a potential B1G Championship berth. We will have to wait and see how the situation looks in the week ahead.

For now, the Buckeyes and Spartans will kick off at 12 pm EST on ABC.
