Ohio State rises to the top of ESPN's Playoff Predictor after rout of Nebraska
Ohio State rolled right along with a big win in Lincoln.
There were admittedly some analysts that expected Saturday’s game to be a bit closer, but that tight battle never developed. The Buckeyes put up 38 first-half points as Justin Fields and company were brutally efficient against Nebraska.

In the end, Ryan Day’s squad cruised to its fourth straight win by 41+ points during a 5-0 start to the season. In that stretch are blowout wins over B1G competition in Indiana and Nebraska, and the Buckeyes are quickly becoming a trendy pick to roll all the way to the College Football Playoff.

Obviously, there are plenty of games left to decide the B1G and the Playoff teams, but it is good to see analysts starting to take notice of what’s happening in Columbus. It also looks like certain computer projections are buying into Ohio State’s work.
According to ESPN’s Seth Walder, the Buckeyes are now No. 1 on the Playoff Predictor with a 71% chance to make the Playoff. That mark puts them ahead of Alabama, Clemson, and Oklahoma at the top. Penn State (17%) and Wisconsin (9%) were the other B1G teams in the top 10.
