It is unknown what type of injuries McCalister and Protector have, but both players are set to miss their first games of the season. Lathan Ransom is one of the players expected to step into the starting lineup in the defensive secondary.
Ohio State has been hit significantly with injuries with star-caliber players at key position groups. Wide receiver Julian Fleming has yet to play a game for Ohio State this season. Jaxson Smith-Njigba missed the Week 2 game versus Arkansas State after leaving the Week 1 matchup versus No. 5 Notre Dame in the first series.
This will be the fourth all-time matchup between Ohio State and Toledo, despite being in the same state.
