Ohio State safety Marcus Hooker has decided to continue his college career elsewhere. The senior has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, per 247Sports.

Hooker will be a graduate transfer with two years left to play at his next destination. He will be immediately eligible for the 2022 season. The defensive back’s decision comes less than two weeks after Ohio State tied a bow around the spring practice schedule.

During his four seasons in Columbus, Hooker appeared in 34 career games and made 4 starts — all of which came during the 2020 campaign. He was credited with 32 total tackles, 4 pass break-ups and an interception as a Buckeye.

Last season, Hooker played in 11 contests and made 9 stops, 3 of which were solo.

Hooker’s most productive year came during the 2020 season, the year Ohio State made a national championship push. He piled up 15 total tackles with 13 solo stops, broke up 3 passes and registered his only interception.

As a high school recruit, Hooker was ranked as a 3-star prospect.
