Ohio State’s Duane Washington Jr. is going to test the waters of the NBA Draft. The Buckeye guard made his announcement with a post on Twitter on Friday afternoon.

Washington was Ohio State’s leading scorer during the 2020-21 season, averaging 16.4 points per contest. He also shot 41% from the floor, 37.4% from behind the 3-point line and converted on 83.5% of his free throw attempts on the year. He also averaged 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

Washington has played in 94 career games with the Buckeyes, making 48 starts. He’s been an outstanding 3-point shooter and prolific scorer during his time with Ohio State, making him one of the more difficult players in the B1G to defend.

It was unclear in his Twitter post if Washington intends to maintain his college eligibility for next season, though that is likely the case. If he wishes to return to Ohio State for another season, he’ll have the option to do so.

Washington joined Ohio State’s 1,000-point club this year with 1,073 points in his career. He’s also grabbed 269 rebounds and dished out 167 assists while in Columbus.

The Buckeyes ended the season with a 21-10 record and a 12-8 mark in regular season B1G play. They reached the championship game of the B1G Tournament, falling to Illinois in overtime.

Ohio State also earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
