Ohio State staff, Ryan Day clear up rumors of Chase Young's potential 4-game suspension
ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit made waves on Saturday morning when he addressed the Chase Young situation on Twitter.
After the No. 1 Buckeyes’ 73-14 shellacking of Maryland at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, Ohio State’s Association Athletic Director for Football Communications, Jerry Emig, and head coach Ryan Day responded to Herbstreit’s insinuation of a looming four-game suspension.

Dan Hope, senior reporter for Eleven Warriors, shared Emig’s comments:
Ohio State spokesperson Jerry Emig speaks before Ryan Day’s press conference. Said Ryan Day will not be able to expand upon the statement Ohio State released yesterday on Chase Young, but this morning’s report that Ohio State expects a four-game suspension is incorrect.

Emig said Ohio State does not have any expectations for how long Chase Young’s suspension will be right now, but OSU is hoping for a quick resolution.

Day wasn’t nearly as revealing as Emig, but here is all he had to say on Young, courtesy of Eleven Warriors’ Colin Hass-Hill:
Ryan Day on whether he thinks Chase Young will return this season: “This is not for me to say right now, any of that stuff.”

While Young’s absence is obviously felt, the Buckeyes did not miss a beat vs. the Terrapins. Outgaining Maryland, 705-139, Ohio State played three different quarterbacks and had 10 players record a reception in the rout.
Looking to improve to 10-0, Ohio State travels to Piscataway to battle Rutgers (2-7, 0-6 B1G) on November 16.
Idle until November 23, Maryland next hosts the Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-5, 2-4).
