One of Ohio State’s biggest targets for the class of 2022 is off the board.

Domani Jackson, a 5-star defensive back from Santa Ana, Calif., committed to USC on Saturday afternoon.

Here’s his announcement:

Ohio State and Michigan were both finalists for Jackson, but it’s tough to pull Mater Dei High School prospects out of Southern California.

Jackson is the No. 1 cornerback and the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class is still shaping up to be amongst the nation’s elite once again. The Buckeyes currently boast the nation’s No. 1 class, led by No. 1 overall player QB Quinn Ewers, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Ohio State also has commitments for 2022 from two other top 15 players: No. 10 Jaheim Singletary and No. 14 Caleb Burton.

OSU has the No. 2 class per 247Sports Composite for 2021. National Signing Day is just a couple weeks away for that class and is scheduled for Feb. 3.
