Ohio State just put a bow on its B1G-leading, No. 2-ranked 2021 recruiting class on Wednesday. Now, the Buckeyes are focusing their attention on the 2022 class and find their names in the Top 7 for a highly-touted offensive lineman out of Florida.

Thursday, 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle Julian Armella announced that he had trimmed down his list of 37 offers to a Top 7. Ohio State was included and was the only B1G program in the mix. The other six teams are Alabama, Miami, LSU, Florida, Florida State and Clemson.

Armella received B1G offers from Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Penn State and Rutgers.

Per 247Sports, Armella ranks as the No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 18 prospect out of Florida. Overall, Armella is listed as the No. 133 prospect, regardless of position.

As a sophomore in 2019, Armella started at right tackle for St. Thomas Aquinas, which finished the year with a 15-0 record and won a 7A state title. He was also named a Sophomore All-American by MaxPreps.

Ohio State’s 2022 class is already in great shape, with 10 players currently committed, seven of which are ranked inside the Top 150 nationally. The Buckeyes presently have the No. 1 ranked class for the cycle.
