Ohio State will honor the memory of Dwayne Haskins’ Jr. during Saturday’s spring game, head coach Ryan Day confirmed during a press conference on Monday.

Day said the school is still working on the details and deciding the best way to honor the former Ohio State quarterback. The Buckeyes’ spring game is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 16. It will air on Big Ten Network.

“Buckeye Nation meant a lot to Dwayne,” Day said Monday.

Haskins was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday morning. He was in South Florida training with teammates of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Haskins had one of the most magical seasons in B1G history for a quarterback in 2018, his lone season as the starter. He started all 14 games for the Buckeyes, throwing for 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns while completing passes at a 70% clip. At the end of the year, he was named B1G Offensive Player of the Year, B1G Quarterback of the Year and was a Heisman Trophy finalist.

After his outstanding year, Haskins was selected with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
