Ohio State is 1 of 3 teams expected to host East Carolina transfer Javon Small on a recruiting visit next week.

College basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported that news on Sunday afternoon. Rothstein also shared that Small will be taking trips to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Small has received interest from several top programs during the transfer process. He scored 15.8 points per game last season for the Pirates.

He was a breakout star in the AAC last season as a sophomore. In addition to his scoring, Small also averaged 5.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game this past season.

The Buckeyes are coming off of a disappointing campaign where they missed the NCAA Tournament. No player on Ohio State averaged more than 3 assists per game last season, so Small would be a big upgrade at the guard position.

Ohio State has already added 1 transfer in forward Jamison Battle this cycle. Chris Holtmann’s staff also signed 4 high school players from the class of 2023.

There is no time table for Small’s decision.
