Ohio State is coming off a national championship win over Notre Dame in the first year of the inaugural 12-team college football playoff. Any time a team wins a championship, there is a good chance that there could be coaches taking other jobs.

The Buckeyes are experiencing that, as they have lost both their offensive and defensive coordinators this off-season. Chip Kelly went to the Las Vegas Raiders, while Jim Knowles is the new defensive coordinator at Penn State. On Wednesday, reports came out that the Buckeyes were hiring Billy Fessler to be the next quarterback coach at Ohio State.

Fessler was an assistant at Ohio State last season, and is regarded as one of the rising stars in the college football coaching world. Before coaching at Ohio State, he was the offensive coordinator over the past few seasons at Akron and UCLA.

This is the time of the year where coaches are going to be moving on and going to new jobs. The Buckeyes figure to have many coaches interested in the open coaching spots on the team, as they figure once again to be one of the best teams in college football.
