Ohio State to reportedly add veteran OL coaches to staff in senior analyst roles
Ohio State is going to hire longtime offensive line coaches Marcus Johnson and Charlie Dickey to senior analyst-type roles, sources told Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247Sports on Wednesday night.
Johnson previously coached the offensive lines at Purdue, Missouri and Mississippi State, while Dickey coached the O-lines at Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Utah.

Now it appears that Ohio State will reap the benefits of both longtime offensive line coaches in 2025 as it attempts to repeat as national champions. The Buckeyes’ coaching staff has seen some expected turnover in the aftermath of winning it all, including the loss of offensive coordinator Chip Kelly to the NFL.
Ohio State recently promoted former Buckeyes wide receiver Brian Hartline to offensive coordinator to replace Kelly, who took the OC job with the Las Vegas Raiders in a return to the NFL.
These reported latest hires in Columbus will help newly hired offensive line coach Tyler Bowen, who hasn’t been an offensive line coach since 2017.
The 43-year-old Johnson is a Mississippi native and former offensive lineman at Ole Miss. He was a second-round draft pick in 2005, playing 5 seasons in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dickey was the Northern Arizona offensive line coach from 1990-91 before taking the OL coaching job at Arizona from 1992 to 2002. He was the Washington offensive line coach in 2004 before taking the jobs at Utah, Kansas State and Oklahoma State.
