Ohio State torches Texas with electric 75-yard TD by TreVeyon Henderson ahead of halftime
Ohio State was losing its momentum against Texas in the Cotton Bowl, including surrendering a game-tying touchdown ahead of halftime. Then, it took just one play for the Buckeyes to snatch it all back.
After getting the ball back and less than a minute to play, Ohio State dialed up a screen pass on 1st down. Will Howard executed it perfectly, letting the defense close in before lobbing a pass to TreVeyon Henderson over the top.
Henderson had also sold the play as if he were serving in pass protection and was left uncovered by the defense. Once the pass was completed, Ohio State had its full convoy of offensive linemen and receivers blocking downfield.
It opened up a clear lane that Henderson raced through and down the sideline to break the tie with a 75-yard score in the blink of an eye.

The score gives Ohio State the 14-7 lead at the break, and it had to feel especially satisfying for Henderson. The star running back was flagged for a costly unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that stalled out the offense in the first half, so getting his team the lead with a big-time spark is a great way to get back on the right side of things.
