Ohio State walk-on/TikTok star dismissed from team ahead of title game
Ohio State dismissed walk-on player and content creator Caden Davis, just days before the Buckeyes face Notre Dame in the national title game in Atlanta.
While Davis has not contributed at all on the field this season for the Buckeyes — he didn’t play a single snap on defense or special teams — he has gained recognition for his social media presence.
During his time at Ohio State, Davis built up a following of approximately 300,000 users across platforms like Instagram, X and TikTok. Davis’s content often featured behind-the-scenes glimpses of Ohio State’s athletic facilities and general life as a student-athlete.
Davis posted an Instagram reel, which has since been deleted, that implied he was on the trip last week with the Buckeyes to the Cotton Bowl against Texas. But Davis’s images were actually from Ohio State’s trip to the Cotton Bowl from the previous season, according to reporting from The Lantern.

Davis confirmed his dismissal from the team with a post on Instagram on Wednesday. The emotional message read in part:
“Being a Buckeye has always been a dream come true of mine since being a kid. I am so very appreciative to the coaches, staff, and players for welcoming me into the team. I truly cannot thank them enough for allowing me to live my dream for the last 2 years and mentoring me the way they have,” wrote Davis.
