Ohio State WR  Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a superstar, and that’s hard to argue. As with most star players, he has high expectations. Throw in the fact that he plays at Ohio State and those expectations double — at the very least.

OSU is constantly one of the best programs in college football, but for Smith-Njigba, that’s not enough. Heading into what could likely be his final season in Columbus before heading to the NFL, the junior wide receiver wants the Buckeyes to be holding hardware when it’s all said and done.

He recently told the media that he wants to win a national championship at Ohio State this season. To be fair, it’s more than just a want, though.

The good news for Smith-Njigba is that no team other than Alabama is considered better than the Buckeyes heading into the 2022 season. Alabama ranks No. 1 in the preseason AP Poll, but Ohio State is right on the heels of the Crimson Tide.

We’ll find out right away if the Buckeyes are championship material in 2022. They kick off their season playing host to the No. 5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
