Ransom’s commitment puts Ohio State at No. 2 in the recruiting rankings for this cycle, jumping ahead of Alabama (No. 3) and LSU (No. 4). The Buckeyes are only behind Clemson at the moment.

Ohio State now has nine players inside the top 100 committed in the 2020 class. Ransom, per 247Sports Composite rankings, is the No. 76 overall prospect in the class and is the fourth-best safety this cycle. He’s ranked as the fifth-best player out of Arizona.

Ransom held offers from more than two dozen programs. He picked Ohio State over LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA and USC, among others.

The Buckeyes have put some serious separation between the rest of the B1G in the recruiting rankings, with Michigan sitting at No. 2 in the conference, but No. 7 nationally. Penn State sits at No. 3 in the conference and is 11th nationally.

Ryan Day continues to prove he can recruit and is putting together an incredible first full class in Columbus.
