Ohio State defensive lineman Chase Young was dominant in Saturday night’s win over Penn State. For that big performance, he’s receiving plenty of national attention.

Tuesday, Young was named the Bednarik Player of the Week. The defensive lineman recorded six tackles against Penn State, including three for loss and two sacks. He also had two pass break-ups in the contest.

Young is now the second Buckeye to receive Bednarik Player of the Week honors. Defensive end Nick Bosa earned recognition following his Week 1 performance against Oregon State.

Bosa has missed the last two games with a core muscle injury and is expected to be re-evaluated in November.

For the season, Young has registered 12 stops with six tackles for loss and four sacks. He’s also been credited with breaking up three passes.

Young was also named the B1G’s co-Defensive Player of the Week as well. He shared the honor with Michigan’s Chase Winovich.

Ohio State is back in action this Saturday against Indiana.
