Ohio State's EJ Liddell makes decision on 2022 NBA Draft
Ohio State’s EJ Liddell has decided to declare for the 2022 NBA Draft. He made the announcement in a social media post on Friday evening.
Liddell, a first-team All-B1G and third-team All-American selection after the 2021-22 season, had one of the best seasons among college basketball players. Through most of the season, Liddell was in contention to be the B1G Player of the Year.
“I am going to start this off by thinking Buckeye Nation. These past three years have given me some of the best moments of my life,” Liddell said. “Being able to have our fans back in the Schott made this year extra fun.

“Choosing to play for Coach Holtmann has been the best decision for me not only as a player but as a person. Thank you for believing in me Coach. To our trainers, managers and the rest of our coaching staff, I appreciate you all for allowing me to carry on the great traditions and culture of being a Buckeye. Most importantly thank you God for everything. Without you none of this would have been possible.
“I will cherish the time and commitment of Buckeye Nation. I hope the feel is mutual! With that, I’d like to announce that I will be hiring an agent and entering the 2022 NBA Draft.”

While college basketball players are permitted to declare for the NBA Draft and retain their college eligibility, Liddell’s decision to hire an agent will essentially end his career at Ohio State.
Liddell averaged 19.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2.5 assists per game for the Buckeyes this season. He finished the year posting 9 double-doubles and scored 20 points or more in 13 contests.
Over his 3-year career in Columbus, Liddell played in 92 games and made 62 starts. He totaled 1,298 points, 564 rebounds, 146 assists and 143 blocks.
Ohio State ended the season with a 20-12 record.
