There’s been no official announcement from Kendall Sheffield or Ohio State, but it appears that the star cornerback is pursuing the NFL Draft.
Monday was the cutoff day to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft, forcing Sheffield to make a decision. While there was no official word on his decision, an Instagram post from EXOS Sports shows that Sheffield plans to train with teammate Johnnie Dixon, among several other players.
Sheffield has long been expected to pursue the NFL Draft and is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the 2019 class. He has no social media, so an official announcement would likely come from Ohio State.
Sheffield appeared in all 14 games for the Buckeyes in 2018, registering 35 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass break-ups. In 2017, the cornerback totaled 40 stops and nine pass break-ups. He’s tallied four tackles for loss in his career.
Ohio State has lost six players to early entry into the NFL Draft.
