Ohio State is destroying Nebraska on the field, and now it’s destroying the Huskers on social media.

With a 38-0 lead at halftime, the Buckeyes were dominating through the first two quarters of Saturday night’s primetime showdown. Nothing could go wrong for Ohio State, which is well on its way to a 5-0 start.

Holding onto a pretty good sized lead, Ohio State thought it was appropriate to take a jab at Nebraska on Twitter, targeting one of its favorite traditions. The red balloon tradition.

At Nebraska, thousands of fans release a red balloon into the air after the team scores its first touchdown. But with no touchdowns on the board, the balloons hadn’t been released. Ohio State took advantage of that opportunity.

“Flying high like a balloon in the sky,” Ohio State wrote on Twitter.

Talk about salt in the wound.

Nebraska’s fans were finally able to release those balloons with two minutes left in the third quarter. Better late than never, I guess?

Ohio State was a heavy favorite heading into the matchup, but not many expected this kind of dominance in Lincoln on Saturday night. When you build that big of a lead through two quarters, you’re entitled to do a little talking.
