Oregon will have a big gap difference in time compared to their Week 2 opponent Ohio State.

After Ohio State’s primetime game at Minnesota on Sept. 2, they’ll host Oregon nine days later on Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. PT (FOX). Meanwhile, Oregon’s season opener is Sept. 4 vs. visiting Fresno State.

Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal isn’t making any excuses despite the in-balance.

“It’s a big thing if you make it a big thing,” Cristobal said via Cleveland.com. “We practice at 8:45 a.m. When we get to that game we’ll deal with it. We have a plan for all time slots.

Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens says during the negotiations that the start time was discussed with the B1G, Pac-12 and FOX. That adds to the disappointment for Mullens but he’s taking it in stride.

“That (Noon Eastern) wasn’t what was discussed, but it is what it is,” Mullens said. “We’ll go out there, we’ll be prepared and we’ll compete. … It would have been fun to see that game in prime time on the East coast but it is what it is.”

Ohio State is 9-0 vs. Oregon in the all-time series. This will be a rematch of the last time the two teams met, when Ohio State defeated Oregon in the 2015 College Football Playoff championship game.
