Oregon will be without wide receiver Traeshon Holden for the majority of the game against Ohio State after he was flagged and ejected for spitting on a Buckeye defender.

In the 2nd quarter, Holden and Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun were fighting for position down near the goal line. After an incomplete pass, the two players were visibly jawing at each other, but that was not an issue to officials.

Things changed when Holden spat in the face of the Buckeye with Igbinosun seen reacting to the incident and later trying to wipe his face shield clean with a towel. Holden was promptly ejected and the penalty pushed the Ducks back on a crucial drive down in the red zone.

Holden was later caught by the television broadcast slamming his helmet in the tunnel while heading to the locker room, but he only has himself to blame for this one.

Instead of a potential go-ahead touchdown, Oregon had to settle for a field goal and a 15-14 lead. That penalty and uncalled for decision by Holden can be added to a list of miscues that includes a bobbled snap on a PAT, a missed field goal and a missed 2-point conversion that has left the Ducks chasing points a bit in the first half.

As for the loss of Holden for the rest of the game, he entered as the 2nd-leading receiver for the Ducks with 274 yards and 3 touchdowns. He had a 32-yard catch before his ejection while Evan Stewart has delivered a breakout game with 5 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown in the first half.
