OSU assistant Mike Yurcich claps back at ‘recess’ comment from Miami (OH) head coach

Don’t try to sell any of Ohio State’s staff on Saturday’s game as recess.

That comment was made earlier this week by Miami (OH) head coach Chuck Martin. When discussing the difference in talent levels between the Buckeyes and the Redhawks, Martin quipped that it was like showing up to recess with Ohio State holding the first 85 picks.

Ex-Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer addressed the comments, saying he didn’t like seeing those comments from any head coach. Whether or not a coach believes that, it’s not something he should say publicly.

Saturday afternoon, Ohio State QB coach Mike Yurcich also took time to address the comments ahead of the matchup. Yurcich labeled the comments a “slap in the face” because Ohio State is dressing a lot more than 85 players.
