Just when it looked like Ohio State was slowing down with its 2017 class, the Buckeyes got a monster commitment on Thursday night.

Five-star linebacker Baron Browning announced via Twitter that he’s coming to Columbus in 2017:

Browning, a Texas native, is the No. 9 player and the No. 2 outside linebacker in the 2017 class. He turned down the likes of Alabama, MichiganĀ and Texas in favor of the Buckeyes after visiting Columbus for the Michigan game.

He’s the highest-rated player in Ohio State’s already loaded 2017 class, which now features six five-star recruits.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Browning’s commitment came on the same day that OSU lost a commitment from four-star linebacker Antjuan Simmons.

Browning is now the Buckeyes’ lone linebacker in its 2017 class.
