At the midway point of the regular season, the Buckeyes are still No. 1.

Ohio State kept its spot atop the Coaches Poll after earning a 49-28 victory against Maryland on Saturday. The Buckeyes earned 47 first-place votes to hold on to the top spot.

The Buckeyes improved to 6-0 thanks to a banner day from Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett, who combined for five touchdown passes in the three-touchdown win.

Ohio State fended off the likes of TCU, Michigan State and Baylor, all of whom came in behind the Buckeyes.

A team that did inch closer was rival Michigan, which recorded its third straight shutout in a 38-0 victory against No. 13 Northwestern. The Wolverines cracked the poll at No. 14 and were the highest risers of any team in the top 25.

In total, five B1G teams, including Iowa (17) and Northwestern (21), cracked the poll.

Ohio State will look to continue its unbeaten start when it takes on Penn State in Columbus next week.
