Alabama or Ohio State?

That might be the argument that consumes the college football world over the next six days. As teams continue to jockey for those four College Football Playoff spots, both the Crimson Tide and the Buckeyes could make interesting arguments. It’s already been the most widely debated topic over the last day.

SEC personality and radio host Paul Finebaum offered his thoughts on the scenario, and his remarks shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

“Ohio State has snuck in this thing twice in the last three years,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter. “Alabama is the better team. Alabama has a loss at Auburn, which has been dominant down the stretch. Compare that with Ohio State losing to Oklahoma and a silly game against Iowa. How is that even a debate?

“We can’t simply look past Alabama beating No. 3 Florida State to open the season.”

Alabama will end the season with just one loss after falling to Auburn on Saturday. But the Crimson Tide won’t be able to claim an SEC title, as the conference championship boils down to the Tigers and Georgia.

Ohio State, on the other hand, has two losses — Oklahoma and Iowa — but will have a chance to knock off an undefeated Wisconsin and win the B1G title.

This will be one of the most prominent debates in the sport over the next week. It’ll get even more hotly debated if the Buckeyes actually do claim a B1G title in Indy on Saturday.
