Ohio State retained its spot at No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night. Though it looks like there’s a lot of ground to make up, the Buckeyes still have a lot in front of them.

After the release of Tuesday night’s latest poll, Paul Finebaum told For The Win. The SEC Network host is still pretty high on the Buckeyes, as well.

“[If Ohio State] beats Michigan State and beats Michigan and wins the B1G Championship Game, they will be in the Playoff,” Finebaum said to For The Win on Wednesday. “And there’s no getting around it. They have the schedule in front of them. The Michigan game would be a monster win.”

Tuesday night, Kirk Herbstreit, Joey Galloway and David Pollack seemed to agree that Ohio State would need some help to get one of the four bids, even if they won out.

Michigan State is ranked No. 18 and Michigan creeped into the top four, coming in at No. 4. Maryland is the only unranked opponent remaining on the Buckeyes schedule, but the Terrapins are currently 5-4.

Ohio State hasn’t passed the “eye test” in recent weeks, particularly with the 49-20 loss to Purdue. It also didn’t look great in wins over Minnesota or Nebraska.

But a one-loss Ohio State with three top 25 wins would be pretty tough to keep out of the CFB Playoff, especially as the B1G champion.

Luckily, there’s still plenty of time to sort out the Playoff picture.
